I saw this site and had to share it. I’m going to try to find some straw to make one of these, but I might have to settle for an alternative material. I think I may use corn husks, which are readily available in most grocery stores and is more closely linked to the vaettir here in North America. I’ll post my results in an update here and on my FaceBook and Pinterest pages.

I successfully made my Yule Bock out of corn husks and wool yarn I spun and dyed with poke berries. It wasn’t very stable, so next time I think I’ll do what the lady in the above article does and build a wooden frame and wrap the corn husks around it.
